Knew

: from the Woodpile Collective

Aug. 7, 2009 - Sep. 6, 2009
Ghosts of towers, of spirits that watched the changing seasons flicker. They stood in calm decay counting the years like ripples on the waters surface. As the growl of heavy moteors drew near, new towers came.

Eye to eye, these giants of different times looked down at the ir creators, watched the ceremonies below and knew.

Sifting influence from the traditional and contemporary arts, abstraction and decomposition, The Woodpile Collective create works that are hightly original yet strangely familiar. The process of their collaboration is free flowing and always open to each others re-interpretation. As they work the canvas, they paint as one. Six hands and three minds processing one-anothers marks, their paintings unfold like a conversation between friends.

Founding members Sean McLaughlin, Blythe Hailey, and Shawn O'Keefe reside in Victoria B.C. and welcome inquiries regarding their work. Visit them online at www.woodpile.ca
